Website design for artists, photographers, musicians and many others in the arts is often the most challenging. Principally for two reasons: capturing the unique style of the artist – and setting up a design platform that allows the client to constantly, and easily, update their content.
There is really no single solution. In Juan’s case, he was very familiar with Photoshop and it’s smaller cousin ‘Lightroom.’ So Electric Avenue Nashville worked out a sim
ple, but stylish, solution for him.
We based the gallery structure around AutoViewer, a wonderful tool from Felix @ Airtight interactive. After we set up the design and navigation for the site, Juan is able to update by simply exporting image galleries directly out of Lightroom.. and using FTP transfer to remote them to the finished site. In this way he can adjust existing galleries, and also create new, custom galleries for his current clients to view in private.
